Why “400”?
The name is a wink at the web’s familiar 400 error—a request that needs to be reworked. We are people willing to debug what is not working, learn in public, combine our strengths, and send a better request to the future.
This is not another group where ideas stop at conversation. It is a place for practical execution: structured teams, clear responsibilities, real milestones, useful products, and room to grow as the community grows.
What we are building
We are laying the foundation for people in tech to develop their craft, collaborate across disciplines, and build products with real-world value.
Move from ideas to prototypes, MVPs, useful software, and products that can serve people and businesses.
Improve through practical teamwork, honest feedback, shared knowledge, and exposure to unfamiliar challenges.
Use thoughtful onboarding, clear roles, milestone-based collaboration, and accountable project coordination.
Explore commercial products, sustainable income, valuable connections, and future ventures built from successful work.
Built for many disciplines
You do not need to be an expert. You need curiosity, a willingness to contribute, and the discipline to keep learning.
First-cohort rollout
The first intake is intentionally time-boxed so we can understand who is joining, plan responsibly, assign roles, and start with a solid foundation.
Applications close
The interest form closes so we can assess skills, availability, and project interests before organizing teams.
Onboarding
Orientation, expectations, communication channels, roles, and the initial working structure come together.
Ready state
The first cohort is aligned and prepared for kickoff—with the “employment letters” joke safely included. 😄
Official commencement
400 Broken Developers starts its first chapter: learning, collaborating, and shipping meaningful work together.
Miss the first batch? More opportunities will open as projects reach new milestones.
The manifesto
“This is more than an association of developers. It is an opportunity to learn, build real-world projects, create valuable connections, and turn our skills into something meaningful.”
We are beginning with what we have, improving as we go, and choosing momentum over perfection.
Questions, answered
Developers, designers, product people, AI and data enthusiasts, DevOps engineers, testers, technical writers, growth specialists, project coordinators, and other tech talent willing to learn and contribute.
No. Beginners and experienced professionals are welcome. What matters is honesty about your current level, willingness to collaborate, and commitment to practical work.
No. Joining does not guarantee employment, payment, membership, or project selection. The community is an opportunity to collaborate, gain experience, and explore viable products together.
We need a clear first-cohort count to review skills and availability, plan onboarding, assign responsibilities, and launch with structure.
